A holistic treatment plan personalized to your values and goals.

Working together

1

Am I a good fit for you?

The first step is a brief preliminary call for each of us to learn a bit about the other. If we both agree, we’ll proceed with scheduling your first appointment and I will send you my practice onboarding forms to complete prior to our session.

2

Comprehensive evaluation.

We’ll meet for an extended initial appointment to review your concerns, health status, and any prior history of treatment in depth. I may recommend further testing or gather additional information from others, with your permission, to inform my diagnosis and recommendations.

3

Initial treatment plan.

After one or more visits, I will share my initial recommendations with you. If we mutually agree to a treatment plan, then you may consider me to be your psychiatrist. We’ll continue to meet regularly, as needed.

Treatment Services & Rates

  • Professional Fees

    Standard Rate: $600/hour

    Off-Hours Rate: $800/hour

My fees are prorated based on the time I spend on your care. I believe that you are the expert on your own life and my role is to offer professional guidance rooted in my years of clinical training. The particular frequency and duration of visits is flexible and will vary depending on the treatment plan we decide on together — this is by design, as I am committed to providing personalized care specific to your individual needs and circumstances. A reduced fee may be negotiated if we decide to meet more often than weekly.

Regarding Insurance: To enable a higher level of quality and service, I am out-of-network with all commercial insurance plans and enrolled as a non-participating physician with Medicare Part B. Payment is collected at the time of sessions. For those with out-of-network mental health benefits or an HSA, you may request a receipt (superbill) from your patient portal that you may use to seek reimbursement (see FAQs below). Traditional Medicare Part B members pay Medicare limiting charges at time of service and are eligible to receive partial reimbursement directly from Medicare for approved claims.

  • Comprehensive Initial Assessment

    Duration: 60-90 minutes ($600-900)

Purpose: The comprehensive initial assessment is an essential first step in our collaborative journey and helps me begin to understand your unique situation. During this session, we will assemble important information about your medical history, current concerns, and goals for treatment. In our initial visits, both of us will determine if I am a good match for you and helping you with your concerns.

What to Expect: The initial assessment typically lasts at least 1 hour, depending on complexity. Prior to your appointment, you will be provided with access to the patient portal and an onboarding packet to complete that will allow us to make the most of our time together. I will inquire in more detail about your background, strengths, past experiences, and current challenges. This builds towards a provisional “working” diagnosis and co-creation of a treatment plan that aligns with your values and goals. I take a whole-person approach and may recommend lab testing. At times, additional information such as outside records, insight from people who know you well (with your prior permission), further diagnostic testing, and additional sessions may be needed to clarify the issues that led you to seek treatment. I will only prescribe medications when, in my professional opinion, the risk/benefit profile is favorable for you.

  • Holistic Follow-up Session (w/Therapy Focus)

    Duration: 45-60 minutes ($450-600)

Purpose: As part of your holistic treatment plan, therapy may be combined with prescription medication, supplements/nutrition, and lifestyle counseling as appropriate. These sessions provide a supportive space to explore your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. My aim is to help you gain insight into the challenges that arise repeatedly, learn more about yourself from our therapeutic relationship, and work towards lasting change by addressing root causes.

What to Expect: Sessions will be reserved for you in advance on a routine basis, typically weekly, or depending on our mutual agreement. Each session lasts 45 minutes by default, though longer appointments are possible. My approach to therapy is rooted in psychodynamic/psychoanalytic principles, inviting free expression of what’s on your mind, and paying attention to the ways in which past experience recapitulates itself in the present, as well as through our therapeutic relationship. In addition to talk therapy, the other aspects of your holistic treatment plan will be woven into sessions as described below.

  • Focused Follow-up Session

    Duration: 30 minutes ($300)

Purpose: Regular check-ins are an essential aspect of psychiatric care, including when prescription medications or supplements are part of your treatment plan. These visits allow us to monitor your response to treatment, refine the working diagnosis, review any needed testing, and make ongoing adjustments. This more brief follow up visit type is most often appropriate for individuals who are already working with a trusted therapist and need expert consultation focused on the other aspects of their treatment plan.

What to Expect: These visits are shorter in duration and focused on the ongoing management of prescription medications, supplements, and other interventions, checking progress made towards your goals, and mutually determining whether to make changes to your plan going forward. Typically, we will meet more frequently while actively making changes and then periodically as your symptoms improve, depending on your individual needs. During our sessions, I will ensure that you have sufficient refills of any medications I am prescribing for you to last until our next scheduled check-in.

  • Cancellation Policy

When you book an appointment, I reserve that time in my schedule just for you. As such, I do request at least 2 business days notice to cancel or reschedule appointments, so that I may offer that time to someone else. Late cancellations are billed at 50% time. Missed appointments (no shows) are billed for 100% of scheduled appointment time.
